5me-dC CEP is a phosphoramidite containing 5' DMT and the nucleoside deoxycytidine (dC) with Benzoyl (Bz) base protection, for use in oligonucleotide synthesis. The 5-me-dC Phosphoramidite elicits enhanced binding and increased duplex stabilization (to dG) compared to unmethylated dC. This can be attributed to the hydrophobic nature of the methyl groups that help eliminate water molecules from the duplex. Thus, it can be utilized to improve the ability of an oligo to hybridize to its target. It has proven especially useful in oligo applications such as strong-binding PCR primers, immune stimulation (via antisense), and in methylation studies. This product is supplied in a 20 mL Amber bottle with a Serum Vial neck style, which is compatible with most ABI Systems|AKTA Systems of oligonucleotide synthesizers.
