Thermo Scientific Pierce D-Galactose Agarose enables purification of lectins, galactosidases and other galactose-binding molecules.
The immobilized D-galactose is a beaded agarose affinity resin that enables purification of agglutinins, lectins, toxins, and other galactose-binding proteins, N-acetylgalactosamine-binding proteins or carbohydrate-binding proteins. This purification method is milder and/or more specific than other methods, allowing protein recovery in a manner that preserves activity for downstream applications.
Features of D-Galactose Agarose:
• Ligand: thio-alpha-D-galactose
• Synonyms: thio-alpha-gal, thio-gal
• Support: crosslinked 6% beaded agarose
• Binding capacity: at least 20 mg jacalin per milliliter of settled resin
• Format: 50% resin slurry in 0.02% sodium azide
• Storage: 4°C
Applications:
• Human alpha-galactosidase A purification1
• C-type lectin purification2
• E. coli heat labile enterotoxin purification3,4
• Cholera toxin (CT) purification4,5
