DNP-BSA (Albumin from Bovine Serum (BSA), 2,4-Dinitrophenylated) (Invitrogen™)

BSA that has been covalently attached to multiple dinitrophenyl (DNP) hapten molecules is commonly used as a protein tracer. Some applications of this tracer include the study of Fc receptor–mediated immune function and the IgE- and IgG-mediated responses to crosslinking of DNP-specific antibodies. Because DNP-BSA has a more defined molecular weight than the polydisperse dextrans, it may be better suited for some applications where the size of the tracer protein must be known with accuracy.

Has ∼25 dinitrophenyl substituents per molecule of BSA
DNP-BSA can be detected with an unlabeled or a fluorescently labeled anti-DNP antibody (A6430, A11097, A6423, A6435, Q17421MP; Anti-Dye and Anti-Hapten Antibodies—Section 7.4)

In addition to the DNP hapten–labeled BSA, we also offer several fluorescent conjugates of BSA, ovalbumin, and parvalbumin Protein Conjugates—Section 14.7.
